Hi! My name is Patricia Barros and  I am an illustrator.

I have always been amazed by all kinds of art. However, I really like to draw and paint.

I like drawing since I was a child. I used to have a drawing notebook where I used to copy images that caught my attention, and also to create imaginery worlds (as the mermaids’ city) and to illustrate the stories I used to read (I used to have a special attraction by Brazilian Folk, Greek Mithology, songs and recipes). I also enjoyed a lot to illustrate my Science homework, which I think already reflected my passion for animals, plants and nature.

I studied Fine Art School at Rio de Janeiro Federal University (Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro – UFRJ), where I got a Bachelor degree in Painting and later the Master degree in Visual Arts – Art History.

I worked as a teacher for ten years, and did several courses in the Art field in the past years. Illustration, Sculpture and Art Therapy are some of them.

Nowadays I dedicate myself to the Illustration career.

Olá! Meu nome é Patricia Barros e sou ilustradora.

Sempre fui fascinada por todos os tipos de Arte, especialmente desenho e pintura.

Gosto de desenhar desde criança. Costumava ter um caderno de desenhos onde copiava imagens que chamavam minha atenção, e também criava mundos imaginários (como a Cidade das Sereias) e ilustrava as histórias que lia (tinha uma atração especial por Folclore Brasileiro, Mitologia Grega, músicas e receitas).

Também adorava ilustrar meus trabalhos de Ciências, o que acho que já demonstrava minha paixão por animais, plantas e natureza.

Estudei na Escola de Belas Artes da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janieor, onde concluí o curso de Bacharel em Pintura e mais tarde o Mestrado em Artes Visuais.

Trabalhei como professora por dez anos e fiz vários cursos na área de Arte nos últimos anos. Ilustração, Escultura e Arte Terapia foram alguns deles.

Atualmente me dedico à carreira de ilustradora.
